Songwriters
Songwriters are important for sharing real life testimonials.
In the main stream pop is not where you will find much of
meaningful and inspiring lyrics. They may most likely be found
almost hidden on Youtube, ReverbNation, or from your neighbor’s
residence.
Although it does help if you can sing well, it’s mainly about the spirit and story of it all
that counts.
Most of the time, it is about collaboration to make things work
the best, where writers meet a singer, musician, and producer, for instance.
It’s good to have a separate producer who is not part of the band that knows when he hears a good song.
Great songs might be overlooked if they don’t display a sense of originality.
It often takes a tough producer to make the proper changes to make the song
sound unique and special. Such as, a guitarist may need to change a rhythm or tone and
a singer may need to rediscover their own voice and work on that.
So often is the case, that a singer doesn’t really like their own voice and they just need some encouragement and
possibly some technical help such as simply double tracking or a doubling effect.
Always be open to taking advice from a good artist manager and producer
as they often see the main troubling factor that can often be adjusted to help in a very huge way.
Try to see what is best, seeing a project as a stranger, and also what is best for the long term, not just what feels
cool for the moment. What seems fun and cool, might be the big wrench in the machine, meaning what kills the
entire project. Yes, a train wreck. So, it does takes a good producer engineer to keep the train on track.
